The 165th New Oaks Stakes took place over the mile and a half Suffolk Stakes course at Newmarket on Friday 18th June 1943 and was won by Why Hurry (7/1), by Precipitation out of Cybiane trained by Noel Cannon, who won by a neck in 2 mins 33.20 secs. The winner won £1,956 (Equivalent to £84,700 in 2017) and there were 13 runners.
